The Frog

There’s a sucker in every deal
Look around the table and find the fool
If you spot him, you’ve got a steal
If you don’t the sucker is you

How do you learn to leave when you’re able
How do you know when it’s time to bail
Leave too soon, leave money on the table
Leave too late and end up in jail

Put a frog into water that’s oh, so hot
He’ll struggle to escape, he’ll fight to survive
If the water is cold, then you heat up the pot
He’ll never know he’s being boiled alive

Every tale I tell is broken
My songs are lies – yeah, this one too
If you still think big lies can’t be spoken
Then whatever I say three times is true

A frog that leaps when thrown in hot water
Mistakes gentle warming for the status quo
I teach my son and I coach my daughter
If you feel the heat, then its time to go
